How you work is pretty personal to you. So how you get notified is a personal preference, too. That's why we're going to talk about how to set up and turn on and off notifications in HubSpot.

Your system administrator may have set default notification preferences for your company. So that's what's going to pop up if you haven't customized anything yet. But you can always set your own preferences, and those will override the company default preferences.

Here's how you get to notifications. You go to the settings gear bar, and then when this little gray settings menu pops up, you go to the notifications tab. Here is where you can set how and where you get notified. The main notification of email, you can just turn on or off. You can also choose what you get notified about. All of these different options exist for setting your notifications. Turn on the things you need notifications for and turn the ones off that you don't so your computer is not ding, ding, dinging at you all day, interrupting your ability to concentrate.

You also can set preferences for things like for your desktop notifications: Do you want a sound? Which sound do you want? Do you want it to pop up? Or do you want it to pop up on your browser? And then again, what will you get notified by on the desktop?

You may want email notifications for some things, desktop notifications for different things.

Let's jump over to the mobile app option next. If you're using your mobile app, you can also get notifications for these things right in the mobile app.

Finally, you can get notifications for other apps. If you're using Microsoft Teams, you can connect Teams here and then get notifications in Teams, or you can get your notifications in Slack.

HubSpot does have a Workplace by Facebook connection, but remember, Facebook is sunsetting workplace in 2026. If you're using it now, you probably don't want to be leaning on it so heavily ... Facebook is going to significantly downgrade services already starting in 2025. Then finally, what you get notified about in those systems.
