How Do I Resize Google Docs or Sheets Toolbar and Menu?

If the menu or toolbar area of your Google Docs or Google Sheets has become the wrong size, here's how to fix it.

You probably already know that if you hit Control (on a PC) or Command (on an Apple), so Control/CMD- (minus), you can make your Google Docs or Google Sheets document zoom way out. And if you hit Control/CMD +, you can zoom it back in. Or if you hit Control/CMD+0, you'll bring it back to 100 %.

But what happens if the Google Doc or Google Sheet top toolbar and menu area become the wrong size? What happens if suddenly your control area for the document is very tiny or very large? If you go looking online, they'll tell you, hit Control/CMD"+" or "+0" to change the size, but that won't fix the menu or toolbar.

The document itself will get bigger, but not the menu or toolbar.

If this happens ... and it can just reset itself, I'm not even sure how ... you actually have to go to the top level for your Google Docs or Google Sheets. Going to the top level for Google Drive won't fix it, you have to go to either docs.google.com or sheets.google.com.

At that level, your docs or your sheets have gotten resized. So go there and then hit Control/CMD+0 to resize it, and that will fix the toolbar and menu for your individual docs and sheets.

I hope this helps you because I spent about an hour figuring that out myself.
