The best way for your marketing agency to work on your Shopify site isn't to have them log in as a member of your site. It's to have them access your site through their Shopify partner access. And to do that, they're going to need to request access to your site. Now, there's two ways that that can happen. One, it has to do with a setting that you place on your Shopify user permissions, so you may have it set up so anyone can request access to your site.

So they send you a request, you review the request, and you decide whether or not to grant that access. You can also build in a second layer of security, which is that you have to give the agency a code so they can then request the access. Either way, you have to review the request and approve or not approve it. The code adds in an extra layer of security. Sometimes people get a request to access their site from their marketing agency, and they don't know where to go to generate that code.

So I'm going to show you that now. So when you log into your Shopify site, you're going to go into Settings. Then you go to Users and Permissions. And then down at the bottom, you'll see this collaborators box. And here you can select either anyone can send a collaborator request, or you can set it to only people with a collaborator request code can send a collaborator request.

And of course, you still have to review and approve it. By default, Shopify requires collaborator request codes for all sites, but you can go to the option that does not require a collaborator request code, if that's your preference. Anyway, below that is your collaborator request code. You can just send that code to the collaborator. You can generate a new code just by hitting generate code.

But after that, email your marketing agency the code, they'll send you the request, you'll review it, and you're off to the races.
