There's so much going on on a HubSpot screen that it can be easy to miss things when you first start using the system. So we're providing this quick guide to HubSpot navigation just to make sure you've seen everything once and know where things are. Let's start at the top left corner with your HubSpot sprocket icon. The sprocket icon will take you back to whatever page you have set as your HubSpot landing page. When you do your HubSpot settings, if set your dashboards as your default view, it's going to take you to Dashboard. If you always start HubSpot from your Task Panel or from the Help Desk, then it's going to take you to the Task Panel or Help Desk.

This search bar is a global search bar, so it will search the entire HubSpot account for everything. For instance, if you have a client with the last name of Hill, it's going to give you everything that has Hill in it, companies, contacts, tickets, meetings, emails, anything that happens to exist with that search term. If you want to search for a feature or an activity … let's put “prospect” in there.

[00:01:12.11]

Now we're going to see apps that have “prospect” in there, knowledge documents, and everything available in the academy that has the word prospect, your app marketplace, and some meetings popped up. So that is the global search tool.

If you want to do more efficient searches, then you might want go to, for instance, the contact environment and search at the top of contacts, and that will only search for contacts. If you're in companies and you go to this search bar here, it will only search for companies. But up here, we've got a global search bar. Next to the search bar, we have a quick create button. If you click this, you can quickly create contacts, companies, deals, tickets, and tasks just by clicking the plus button. Over here, we have your calling button. Depending on your level of subscription, you may have phone numbers associated with your HubSpot account. When you use this calling icon, you can do outbound calls, you can accept inbound calls. The really exciting thing about that is that calls that are done through HubSpot's calling feature will log directly to the contact and/or company that they're associated with.

Here, we've got the icon for the HubSpot marketplace. That's where you can find third-party applications and templates and other resources to integrate with your HubSpot account. Here's your Help button. This is a link to all of your HubSpot resources. Different account subscriptions have different resources available to them, so it's going to show the resources that are available to you. This settings gear is where all of your account and product settings can be located from. Once you click the settings gear, then you'll see this new settings menu up here on the left side, this light gray panel here. Depending on your level of permissions in HubSpot, you'll be able to work on different types of settings. Every user has access to this your preferences settings piece here. But another cool thing about the settings panel is let's say we're in, I don't know, let's go to prospecting. Say you're in a work area of HubSpot and you click the settings gear. It's going to take you to the settings area for that function that you were in. It will always try to take you to the settings that it thinks you are most interested in, but you can always navigate to additional settings in this settings menu when it appears.

Okay, now let's go to the right of the settings icon. This is your notifications button. Here's your HubSpot Copilot. This is an AI collaboration tool. You can ask copilot questions tasks or data, and it will do its best to answer you. And then here's your drop-down account menu. And again, depending on your permissions, you may have access to a different list that I'm showing here. If you have an enterprise account, you also have access to a HubSpot Sandbox. And the Sandbox is where you can do test processes, test new workflows or integrations or third-party apps before you put them in the live environment. If you have an enterprise account and your sandbox has been set up and you have access to the sandbox, you can get there by hovering over right here where it says account. Okay, so that's your top navigation. Now, let's look at the left side Hub Navigation. First of all, look here at the bottom. You can collapse or expand this navigation window. If you're new to HubSpot, I recommend that you leave it open until you get more comfortable with what each of these icons represent. This Bookmarks tab is where you can bookmark your most frequent functions.

[00:05:06.20]

Adding something to the Bookmarks tab is easy. When you open any of the submenus, when you hover over any of them, you'll see a little Bookmark tab up here. If you want it to appear on your Bookmark menu item, you just fill that in. If you want to remove it, you can remove it by just unclicking the Bookmark. Then you'll see through the rest of this that your HubSpot environment is arranged according to category of content, and you will see different menu options depending on your level of subscription. Also, if there's a service that you don't have access to because of your level of subscription, you'll see a little orange arrow here showing that you need to upgrade to access that particular feature. That's how to use the HubSpot navigation, and hopefully, that helps you get more comfortable with where to find things in HubSpot.
